HFF Practitioner Training Program

Accepting Applications

Do you want to help people to get well? I mean, really help them? Professionally, personally, and equipped with more than google searches and random information?

I can teach you.

I am accepting applications for the very first Healthy Family Formula Health Coach Practitioner Training Program until Sunday, May 17th! Do you want to be one of them?

Don’t get me wrong. A LOT of the information we can find through our own research is valuable and relevant and potentially life-changing, even life-saving. But any of us who have had health challenges ourselves, or are the parent, friend, or family member of someone who has had health challenges, or are a practitioner who wants to help in a different capacity than what you already know, then having all of the moving parts organized in one place would be an absolute god-send. The absolute relief and empowerment that the research, ideas, expertise, and inspiration of other people with the same mission can provide, whether you are a caring practitioner, a devoted parent or friend, a recovered individual who just has to help others because of what you have learned in your own journey, well, there are no words for that. Wait, I guess there are words:

First: Relief

Then: Empowerment

Every day I have many people contacting me in need of my help. We connect through both my work and personal life, and even if the conversation doesn’t start with themselves or their own family, we inevitably end up talking about their own struggles. I know I can help –I am always overflowing with suggestions, support, and information for them — but the need for what I do is well beyond what I can handle, myself, and there remains only a small number of people who are equipped to help in the way I see as the most effective, comprehensive, and sustainable manner.

Therefore, to further the family healthcare revolution that we desperately need in order to truly reverse disease and illness for as many families as we can reach, we need an army of healthcare practitioners and professionals, parents, grandparents, advocates, community support people, you name it, doing this work. And I intend to create one.

Therefore, I have created an impressive, advanced, and comprehensive practitioner training program called the Healthy Family Formula Practitioner Training Program. Stating this spring, I will lead our first group of dedicated, curious, forward-thinking people passionate about helping people to regain their god-given right to health. I will teach you about the science and physiology of health and recovery but also how to support your friends, family, and/or clients to achieve better health and ultimate healing focusing on the whole family and using functional medicine, lifestyle medicine, support, advocacy, and your own mix of skills and talents that you already possess.

The comprehensive program will include:

Weekly Studies and Group Training Calls

Quizzes and Exams to Ensure Learning and Integration

Printable Materials

Individual Support Throughout Training and Beyond Graduation

Required Practicum

Professional Designation

Practitioner Referral Program for Our Graduates

Ongoing Professional Development

Ongoing Support for Our Community of Practitioners

This program will produce the best qualified, supported, confident, and trained practitioners who will be ready to enter the field and begin to do the work you have been inspired to do but  previously not sure how.

Apply via email ([email protected]) and attach

1. Cover Letter in which you answer the question: Why do you want to take this program?

2. Resume or CV (just so I can get an idea of your background and interests – again, this process is not competitive but intended to gather information. You would be surprised at what I am looking for, and it isn’t necessarily letters behind your name.)

Here is the situation I want to fix by creating an army of HFF practitioners:

North Americans spend more money on healthcare than most other populations in the world, yet are some of the sickest people on the planet. Other countries that have been adopting the North American lifestyle are enjoying less vitality and suffering from increasingly poor health, as well. The situation is serious. And when it comes to reversing this downward spiral, there is no time to waste.

Think about this for a second. Is there anyone in your life that you know to be healthy? And when I say “healthy” I mean, is there anyone in your life that does not have any sort of chronic condition? Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t think of a single one. Are you with me here in that you are also asking the question: why?

Most of us have forgotten ourselves. We have forgotten what it means to be healthy, settled for a new normal of sub-optimal health, and are now relying on old and dying systems to keep us alive. The medical system is over-burdened in finances, labor, and resources, and, quite frankly, failing in every capacity. Medical mistakes kill tens of thousands of people every year, antiquated protocols and ineffective treatments continue to prove not only ineffective but often harmful, disregard of natural processes and the life-giving power of lifestyle and nutrition rob our families of safe ways to build health, and drug interactions and side effects contribute to organ damage and unpleasant symptoms, some of which people suffer from every minute of every day.  Every minute of every day. And why?

Our elderly slip through the cracks of our systems, our families are left disempowered and confused due to partial and often misguided advice, and our children are handed diagnoses in place of merit badges with no end or solution in sight. People are scared, unwell, stressed, confused, and alone. Conventional medicine is focusing on the wrong things, like suppressing symptoms and reactionary medicine, and ignoring the very things that will make us healthy and keep us that way, like lifestyle choices, community, family, compassionate support, and proper information that recognizes that we are whole, multifaceted beings that need harmony in every aspect of our selves and our environments.

Yet we can go upstream to unblock the damn. And when we do, there is nothing that will stop the life-giving waters that wash over us.

Let’s step outside of the system. Let’s take a deep breath of fresh air and allow ourselves to see something more, something better.

If you’re convinced, or if I’m preaching to the choir, now what? What can you do to change all of this, for your family, your friends, your current or future clients, your community, the world?

Your Instructor

Carla Atherton, MA, Director of the Healthy Family Formula, Host of the Children’s Health Summit, Health and Nutrition Coach, Writer and Editor, Curriculum Developer, Publisher, Workshop Leader, Yoga Instructor, Health (R)evolutionary, and Children’s Health Advocate.

Carla is an acreage-living mother of three who faces the challenge most women encounter who are both passionate about their families as well as their creative/academic endeavors: too much good stuff to do in this life!

“When my own daughter received an upsetting diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes in 2012, my family and I were launched into a new life of needles and doctors and dead ends. And after experiencing the ups and downs of parenting a child with chronic illness and recognizing what was not available to me and my family, I found the answers, myself. I set out on a mission to make sure that I would be the support I had so much trouble finding and to provide the information I spent years gathering with as many parents who need it. And I have developed a unique, empowering, and life-changing way to help people prevent, regain, recover, and maintain truly good health: The Healthy Family Formula, which is the result of researched, cutting edge information + professional, attentive support, the online Healthy Family Formula family health coaching programs, and one-on-one health coaching services.”

Carla specializes in family health with a focus on functional, holistic, natural health and wellness, with specific interest in functional neurology, nutrition, digestive health, the science of mind/body practices, stress reduction, epigenetics, childhood chronic illness, geriatrics, autoimmunity, bionergetics, detoxification, and immunology using the principles of lifestyle medicine.

Carla is a passionate advocate for client/patient care and education and believes strongly in the autonomy and empowerment of the individual, regardless of gender, age, race, or social status.

“I think that there is nothing that cannot be overcome given the right tools, support, and information and that we are never victims of our own circumstance, but are heroes in our own journeys. I believe strongly in individual autonomy and I aim to elevate family health one empowered family at a time. In this way, we can collectively leave a legacy of health for our children.”
