I was honoured when Shannon VanderZwaag, founder of Love Laugh Lead, asked me to speak for a summit that aims to provide resources for first responders and healthcare professionals, people who both work with others who experience potentially traumatic and stressful events and also have increased opportunity to experience stress and trauma, themselves, due to the nature of their work.
During our interview, we spoke about self-care for healthcare professional as well as self-care for parents who are not healthcare professionals but who serve those roles in their families just the same. We also spoke about the challenges people face (and how to address them) of those who both work in the healthcare field AND play the double duty of being at the head of their own family’s healthcare team.
